Brayden and Reagan’s relationship officially began on a seaside date on the beaches of Charleston, so when it came to documenting their love authentically, there was no better setting than this private sail on the same shores.

The very moment that we stepped aboard we were whisked away on a cinematic, sensory experience…From the gentle October breeze, to the crisp white wine they sipped, to the subtle call of birds circling above—every detail was straight out of a Nicholas Sparks film.

Their love is playful, intentional, and adventurous so we leaned into these traits during the session. Brayden took over my Fujifilm camera to capture some shots of Reagan through his eyes and it ended up being the sweetest moment…I loved playing with perspective here, shifting focus from Reagan’s carefree joy as she swayed with the rhythm of the sails to the adoration and pure joy on Brayden’s face as he snapped photos of his love.

However, my favorite memory from this session was documenting their reaction to a truly unbelievable sunset—the colors transformed countless times from vibrant oranges and reds to cotton candy pinks and blues. The warm light glimmered off the water and made the most incredible backdrop for them to watch several pairs of dolphins play in the distance. 

This was my first visit to Charleston and I’m already counting down the days until I’ll be returning this upcoming summer of 2024 to document more couples’ memories! Truly such a romantic, picturesque city that ignited my creativity unlike any other spot in the US ever has.
